A Study of Chromo-Boronizing on DIN 1.2714 Steel by

In the current study, the microhardness, layer depth, corrosion properties, and kinetics of chromium boride coatings on DIN 1.2714 hot-worked tool steel have been investigated. Thermodiffusion chromium boride coatings have been carried out for the first time by a duplex salt bath immersion coating by chromizing at 1050°C followed by boronizing at 950°C, 1000°C, and 1050°C (chromo-boronizing).

DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE SELECTION AND USE OF Duplex stainless steels (Table 5) have an annealed structure which is typically about equal parts of austenite and ferrite. Although not formally defined, it is gener-ally accepted that the lesser phase will be at least 30% by volume. Duplex stainless steels offer several advantages over the common austenitic stainless steels. The duplex grades are

Microstructure-Tailored Stainless Steels with High

Nov 05, 2018 · Stainless steels are widely used in chemical, structural and automotive applications due to their high room-temperature mechanical properties, toughness, corrosion resistance and low cost. However, tendency and rise in industrial demands for components to be used at high temperature with good mechanical performance and corrosion resistance limit their usage in many applications and Sliding wear behavior of duplex coatings with different Feb 26, 2021 · The present work investigates the influence of a CL and the effects of the mechanical removal of the CL on the resulting wear properties within a duplex layer composite using coldworked AISI D2 steel as an example.

Stainless Steels - Specifications, Grades and Properties

May 20, 2005 · Grade compositions, mechanical properties and production specifications are governed by a range of international and national standards for stainless steel. While the old AISI three digit stainless steel numbering system (e.g. 304 and 316) is still commonly used for the classification of stainless steel grades, new classification systems have Studies on microstructure and mechanical properties of Studies on microstructure and mechanical properties of keyhole mode Nd:YAG laser welded Inconel 625 and duplex stainless steel, SAF 2205 If the laser beam power density is sufficient to evaporate a thin layer of material, Bruck 12 investigated the laser welding of AISI 403 martensitic stainless steel and Inconel 600 using EN 82 nickel

the duplex grades. Despite their very attractive features combining high mechanical properties with corrosion resistance they still account for less than 1% of the total stainless steel production. More recently, the development of the lean duplex grades and duplex cold rolled products were introduced. What is stainless steel welding & NDTJun 21, 2020 · 1. Passive layer:Due to passive (inactive) in nature, this layer does not reacts with the environment (especially oxygen the major cause of rusting) and prevents oxidation hence the stainless steel remains safe and free from rust. 2. Self-repairable:Whenever the chromium-rich oxide layer is damaged, a new layer is formed quickly. Hence
